Senior / Staff Edge Delivery Engineer, Content Platform

Time: Full-time (40h per week)
Location: Estonia or Malta
Contract Type: Employment Contract

About the role

Hub88 delivers third-party game content to operators across many markets. This role owns the edge delivery layer that gets that content to players quickly and reliably, built on nginx and Cloudflare Workers. You will design, scale, and harden multi-region content routing so gameplay is fast and resilient everywhere Hub88 operates, and so delivery stays inside each provider’s integration terms and each market’s regulatory requirements.

We are hiring at Senior or Staff, depending on experience. At Senior you will report to the DevOps and Infrastructure Engineering Lead; at Staff you will report to the Head of Engineering. Either way this is a role you own, not one you are handed. You will make edge and CDN architecture decisions without supervision, run the layer in production, and reason about the contractual and regulatory boundaries of what you build. A mid-level engineer can execute parts of this; they should not own it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture, deployment, and operation of the multi-region edge delivery platform (nginx, Cloudflare Workers and edge compute).
  • Latency optimisation, caching strategy, and origin failover, so asset loading is consistently fast across regions.
  • Provider integration routing: delivering regionally in line with each provider’s agreement and enabling markets correctly under each provider’s authorisation.
  • Delivery controls that keep content aligned with licensing and regulatory requirements per market, and the observability to prove that alignment holds.
  • Reliability for the layer: health checks, automated failover, capacity planning, incident response, and DR.
  • Infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and operational runbooks for the delivery fleet.

Key skills & experience:

  • Strong production experience with nginx (reverse proxy, caching, load balancing) and Cloudflare (Workers, DNS, edge configuration).
  •  Deep networking fundamentals: HTTP(S), TLS, DNS, CDN behaviour, and geo-routing.
  •  Solid IaC and containerisation (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes) and a CI/CD mindset.
  • A track record operating latency- and availability-sensitive infrastructure at scale.
  • Experience with observability tooling, including Grafana and log and metrics pipelines.
  • Judgement about the regulatory and contractual context of content delivery, and comfort working closely with compliance and legal. In a licensed environment that is part of the job, not an aside.

Nice to have

  • iGaming or another regulated-industry background.
